Demon Heartache
Heartache. What will I do? What will I do until this is over? I remember last summer The Demon Who Always Does The Right Thing telling me about breaking up with Ama. Of heartache, she said with wonder, "It hurts. Your heart actually hurts." I believe in heartache. I am grateful for it even. I trust it. I trust my heart to tell me the truth. It's never let me down in that regard. All day and all night I try to stay open to the pain and to listen to it without succumbing to internalized cynicism.
